Hamdan Bin Rashid reaches Paris as the head of a large delegation by UNESCO’s invitation

His Highness Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Minister of Finance, and Patron of the Award has arrived to Paris in the afternoon today as the Head of a large delegation by the invitation of the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization "UNESCO."

His Highness met with the Director of the Organization, Irena Bokova. 

Throughout the visitation, two agreements will be signed between Al Maktoum Charity Organization and Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Award for Distinguished Academic Performance on one hand, and "UNESCO" Organization from the other hand. 

His Highness is accompanied by a delegation that includes H.E. Mohammed Ahmed Al Murr President of the Federal National Council, H.E. Maryam Mohammed Khalfan AL Roumi Minister of Social Affairs, H.E. Humaid Mohammed Obaid Alqatami Minister of Education, H.E. Abdulrahman Mohammed Al Owais Minister of Culture, Youth and Community Development, H.E. Dr. Rashid Ahmed Bin Fahad Minister of Water and Environment, His Excellency Mohammed Meer Abdullah Al-raeesi UAE Ambassador to the French Republic, and Sheikh Rashid Bin Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Chief Al Maktoum Charity Organization, with the side of a number of economic actors, Heads, Local Government Managers, University Administrators in the country, and Members of the Board of Trustees from Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Award for Distinguished Academic Performance. 

As a thank you to His Highness for his strong commitment toward education and UNESCO's work, Irena Bokova, Director-General, focused on the Organization's new strategy on teachers, which aims to increase their quality and professional development. 

She said "In a world changing quickly, curricula must be in tune with society and help students understand their environment and gain skills to fulfill their potential. Education is about acquiring values and knowledge for global citizenship – respect for human rights, gender equality, diversity and promoting solidarity and mutual understanding – all essential for building a culture of peace."

His Highness expressed his appreciation and support toward UNESCO. He is confident that the agreements signed would help in enhancing the teachers 'capacity to achieve their global mission.
